Examples from the books
Every chapter has its programs, and every program is a project of its own, with its .csproj, that builds and runs by itself. They are the same programs the figures of the books come from: the printed outputs and the photographed windows are the real ones.
What is in the packages
Each package has two folders and the license:
lib\with RAVAL compiled (RAVAL.dllandRAVAL.xml, the comments the editor shows while you type): the library the examples from volume 2 onwards use to write windows in a few lines. What it offers, class by class, is on the API page.ESEMPI\with one folder per chapter, named after the chapter (I.12,II.20,IV.27), and inside a project for every program, already linked tolib\RAVAL.dll.- The
LICENSEfile with the MIT license.
The packages are on the Download page, one volume at a time or all together. The examples of volumes 1 and 2 are also available in English, with names and comments translated.
How to open them
- Install the .NET 10 SDK, free, from dot.net: chapter I.1 does it step by step on Windows, macOS and Linux.
- Unzip the package into a folder of yours, for example
C:\Examplesor~/Examples. - Open the folder of a program in Visual Studio Code (with the C# Dev Kit extension), or go into the folder from the terminal.
- Run it with:
dotnet run
The first time, dotnet downloads the packages it needs (Avalonia, SkiaSharp and the other free libraries of the chapter); then the program starts. Chapter I.2 explains the editor, the debugger and the shortcuts.
License
The examples and RAVAL are under the MIT license: you can use them, change them and put them in your own programs, even those you sell, keeping the copyright notice. The text of the books, the figures and the covers are reserved instead: see License.
